John Tanous is a Sussex-based high-end craft workshop that value engineers furniture specifically to interior designer’s requirements.
We were invited to work with the directors of John Tanous to help them move their strategy and design forward. We started by running workshops to help us understand and formalise their offer, values and brand DNA.
We then used our understanding of their values to create an ownable, modern aesthetic that represents John Tanous. The geometric (and flexible) variable font that we created for the logotype reflects the flexibility of their production, while alluding to the precision of their operation – the valuable engineering solutions and quality aesthetic for which they are known.
We then used the core concepts and aesthetic to create a full visual system, and redesigned key touchpoints for the brand, including the signage, uniforms, website and marketing materials.
Our process has helped them look, feel and sound like the company they always were.
